Hi all... going with my simplicity challenge entry, I did this non-DPC legal version and would like your feedback... thanks in advance!!! :-)

WOW,,, what a stunning image.
I love these minimalist style photo's Excellent use of selective lighting. Any more light on the figure and it would have been average. This is exquisite.

I can see it OK (after a while), but I'm not sure it qualifies as "simple" despite the few elements present ...

very interesting- how'd you do it?? Specifically I'd be interested to know what the light source is and how you set the shot up.

Well... good question! The lightsource is FAKE! :-) It comes from a software called Mystical Lighting and I love it! Of course it's not DPC legal even with the new december rules. :-)

very cool- now in looking at it knowing that, I see cues to it's fakeness (The bottom part of the "beams" would probably be lighting his feet or the chair legs at least to some degree, and looking closely the beams almost look too uniform). So what did the original shot look like? How did you actually light the subject and what was the room setup?
