I took part in the 30 black and white challenge and took that chance to work on my candids. For those that didn't take part I would appreciate your opinions, for those that already commented thank you very much. What could I have done differently, or what did I do right?

impressive! I especially like the guy reading the book. Just something about that photo that draws me in.

Thanks. I really wonder why he was sitting out there reading that book.

I love the sky and the weird angles on the bicycle man photo. Is that the original sky? The sky seems washed out in some of the other photos. My other faves are the reading man and the guitar man, though the guitar man's eyes may be a little over-whitened. All in all though a neat collection of street images.

the bicycle shot is processed but everything in it was there when i pushed the button.

What lens were you using? I'm actually interested in the focal lengths.

I like the b&w tones. They are rich and smooth. Any secrets you'ld like to share? great shots, all of them.

The Bicycle shot is truly incredible!! It was my fav of all of your entries...the tones and light in that shot are what B&W is all about for me!!! Way to go!! Love it!!!

my ef-s 17-85. seems to be a good lens for it.

Robotron!!!!!!! Good ole New Orleans. Glad to see he's still around.

Edited: After a 2nd look....B/W looks better, nice job.

P.S. How you liking Jackson? I moved out about a year ago....

we really like it here. we moved from a crappy little town in ga so this is a huge improvement. i grew up in monroe,la and have a teenage son there so that is great too.
