I know the rules say "Submit your best photograph taken during December of 2003." Now this still has to be a shot unique to that challenge right? You can not use the shot in another challenge? The only reason I asked is I took and did the post editing on a shot yesterday. I liked it so much that I decided to put it into December challenge. At midnite a challenge is announced that fits my shot perfectly. Now I know it's a day early for 'Motiviation' but its a shot that I can very easily reshoot (was thinking about it anyways for a cleaner crop). What to do...

You can enter the same shot as long as it is 2 separate exposures, so a reshoot would be fine... but be prepared for a few people voting you down for it.

LOL You kinda answered my next question, 'will the masses accept the shot' if entered twice... I actually have decided that if I do reshoot it it will BE for the Motivational challenge and I'll once again be looking for the perfect shot....
Actually it's kinda funny. I saw the theme 'Motivational Poster'. I said to myself "Awwwww (that's me whining like my 11 year old) I can't motivate nobody..." Then I go to upload my December shot and it clicked (more like the damn shot slapped me upside the head and said 'use me in the other challenge dummy') If only I took it today...

I have a question about December Free Study. I have submitted a photo before, and when I looked at it, there were 3 other checkboxes on the submission page about rules, dates,... etc. I have checked them all and updated the datas, but at the moment they are not checked. What have I done wrong? Shall I re-upload my entry for those checkboxes to be checked? Or does it count at all?

They are just a new addition to make double-sure people know the rules before submitting. Don't worry about them for photos that you've already entered.

The new check boxes, great idea, seem to uncheck themselves if you change your submission, presumably so you have to tick them each time you change your entry (I do so frequently).

I think there is a spelling typo in the sentence after the 3 check boxes, unless it has been corrected since I submitted for Tacky Holiday Decorations. |

yes there is a typo - the word NOT is spelled NO
and the check boxes clear after the submission has been updated
even if you just update the description of the photo.
folks want to be sure you know the rules - its a good addition in my mind.

I didn't think you could enter the same picture in two challenges... is this rule off for the December free study?

As long as you press the shutter button twice, you can use each picture as a seperate photo. This applies to any Challenge.

Ah, good point that I didn't think of ;).
I do think that using the same picture entered in another challenge kind of goes against the reason the free challenge was put in, but to each their own.

Also the word "between" is repeated, e.g. "Yes, this photograph was taken on or between between Dec 29 2003 and Jan 4 2004."
I think the additional check boxes are a very good and needed step forward; I would still like to see the date field initially blank so that it has to be deliberately selected; there would then be NO "I just clicked, didn't read..." excuses.

I've already seen the same picture shot twice for two back to back challenges. Consciously, I didnt vote it down just bc I saw it twice.
