This might be a best seller at DPCPrints if done well. Good luck members.

Kind of like propaganda but not.

This is one though where I'd have been happy if text were to be allowed, then you could make it look like a real poster, but still a fun one without.

The title would be the perfect place for the text.

This could be your best seller at your DPCprints.

The start of the accursed huge black borders. Sigh.

What is "Motivational Poster"?

Are we allowed to use words as well as a photo
Or has the photo got to speak for itself?

My fave resource for (de)motivational posters is www.despair.com - they just make me laugh so much :o)

Nope, text not allowed, as per December rules, "Specifically, the only thing you may not do to your photograph during post-shot editing is add text. "

The motivational text should be placed in the title.

This challenge was intended to allow text. The "extra rules" have been updated to note that text is permitted for this challenge. Without text, it is hard to come up with a true "motivational poster". Enjoy!

Merry Xmas to all dpchallenge community!

I´m from another culture and another language, and I have a little with this challenge. What is the subject of this challenge?

Thanks in advance,

You can do a search for motivational posters and find lots of examples. I hope this helps.

a motivational poster is one that is inspirational - that is, it inspires you to do something (positive).

Imagine a photo with some inspiring panorama or subject. Now imagine that the whole photo has a border around it and somewhere in that border is one word blown up very large. Let's imagine a photo of a nail being driven into a piece of wood by a hammer. You see about 1/3 of the nailhead sticking out above the wood and you see a hammer in motion being swung at the nail. Under the photo is the word
P E R S E V E R A N C E
in big letters like that.
Down under that word in a much smaller type is a phrase like,

Because no one can drive the whole nail the first time, remember to keep after it until you finish the job.

In American culture posters like this are believed by some people to provide motivation for groups of workers and therefore if you visit America and walk through any large company you are liable to see posters like this on the walls. Now if you're one of the workers at a company like that, you know that a poster doesn't exactly motivate you (more money or better hours or having a cute secretary . . ooops). Anyway, another group of posters has started to get alot of business becuase the workers think that its funny that the companies try to motivate them with posters. Try looking at Despair.com because it is a sarcastic/sardonic view of motivational posters.

Hope this helps with some cultural background on this challenge.

So am I, but a search for motivational posters on google.com shows lots of examples.

You hardly see this type of posters here in Europe, I think many people would not feel motivated and rather prefer the unmotivational type, more fun.

Just posted mine.
