ZAR 8.0, Zero Assumption Recovery. If the cards still "working" You can try to reconstruct the data. Might try it takes a few though.
The memory card function of the software is free. But if the cards dead its dead.....

If you do recover the data (hope you do), dont ever rely on that card again. chuck it in the bin. even if you try a couple of test shots and it "seems ok".. it aint. and it will let you down again..
good luck, let us know how you get on. |

Just remember not to modify anything on the card before using recovery software. Everything written on it now is going to overwrite other data. In other words, recovery software might actually restore pictures you deleted a long time ago.

Just to play it safe, first try another access method on the CF card. If you had used a card reader, use a different one or use your camera. If you used your camera, try a card reader. It may be worth trying to use Canon's Zoombrowser or some software other than windows file transfer.
BTW, can you view all the pictures on your camera?

Thank you for you help. I used ZAR 8.0, Zero Assumption Recovery and it actually recovered all the images!
I wish I could just throw the card away, but it's a 4GB card... I just can't bring myself to do it. If it does it again then I will, but I... just... can't... do... it... |

What happens if the next time you arent so lucky to recover them from an important shoot? When you have something thats cost you trouble/worry one time dont trust it again, because you will get let down. And I do agree with Di, contact the manufacturer to see if they can offer any help or assistance with it.
