Crap, what's a 35-year-old guy to do when he can't get Avril Lavigne's "Girlfriend" out of his head?
Do I need to check into a facility somewhere?

Tell your wife what you just told us... She'll knock some sense into you with the frying pan... ;-)

You guys crack me up...
It's not helping though. "Hey! Hey! You! You!" is playing over and over. Soon Avril will start telling me to hurt puppies and jump out windows.

Here's the cure:
Play this a minimum of 6 times. You won't even remember who Avril is.

This thread actually has a good side. I've been searching for a song over the year which I thought was called "Alia" and could never find. It sounded like a 70s/80s sorta rock anthem song. Well, in an attempt at defeating Avril, I went looking again.
I found it! "Ah, Leah" by Donnie Iris. Looks like Leah will now be in my head...

DOH!
I thought DrAchoo was having carnal feelings for Avril's lesbian lover. I didn't know Avril was a lesbian, and was surprised. Now it looks like I pulled a Jack Tripper, lol. I'm not very up on some music.

Just a note that today is the 40th anniversary of the release of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band ... you could do worse than to listen to that. |

you need to seek professional help. that's my non professional opinion. :D
granted, It's a much better song :P but I can't stop listening to dolly partons song "jolene" over and over and over. I had to seek it out on youtube so I could visually experience it too. lol. but last week i had one specific line from a Gym class heroes song in my head. so for a few days in a row I was playing the words "It's just that circle, circle , dot, dot cootie shot s**t" over and over and OVER in my head.
Jolene |

aparently the canadian national anthem is a sure cure for an earworm -that's the official name (i kid you not) for a song that won't leave. just sing o canada a few times, and your mind will be scrubbed clean. try to ignore the fact that you're slowly being brainwashed to be a canadian... but, joking aside, it does apaprently work.
i once had come on feel the noise for a week, and just the chorus of babushka for about 2 weeks. this way madness lies.

A couple of weeks ago I had a huge headache from having Gwen Stefanie's Sweet Escape stuck in my head for days! The music itself isn't bad (I really like it)... what gave me the headache was the "Whohoe Wihoo" over and over!
