Ok, if I sold 100 candies last year and this year I sold 150 candies...that's a 50% increase right? What if the 1st year I sell 100 candies and the next 200. That a 100% increase right?
Stupid question I know, but I always get confused (i suck at math) and It's very late here in Poland and I ain't got no one to call and ask. You guys are my last resort :)

So if I replace my Konica-Minolta 5D with a 7D, is that a 40% increase? :)

wait!!!
the increased % probably not right if the model cost for
producing the candies has gone up in the next year...so you will
have to minus the production cost as to get the real
profit marginal increased %..
lolol..am I confusing you. hihihihi. |

I don't think minus is a verb.
And speaking of silly math questions ... "What is the speed of light measured in furlongs per fortnight?" |

Yes to 40%, no to 600%.
That would be a 500% increase. Go back and read the first post to understand why. A 100% increase means you now have 2x the original. A 200% increase means you now have 3x the original, etc.
