Hi Methos.. this is a nice bunch of photos. My thoughts going down the list:
The egret looks good, and realizing you're using natural light so this may not have been possible, I think a greater contrast in color between the egret and its reflection would have given it a really intense pop. Not sure if that can be manufactured via PS or not.. but to have the bird very lit up with the darker reflection seems like it might add to the wow (don't know if that will follow through in practice though).
The tree frog in the red background seems odd to me, I think its because of the background.. the red makes the orange and green tones look strange to my eyes. There also seems to be a fuzziness near the back leg that gives a slight distort.
The tree frog with the black background though is fantastic. I love the head tilt because that really gives the image character. Its a fun shot and the lighting/focus look great.
I like the idea behind the image of the young girl but the blue really throws me off. Its a nice foil for the yellow but it borders on neon to me which gives the photo an unnatural feel. The way the yellow in the background shows looks a little like paint splotches too so that throws me off as well. Not sure if different color combinations would work better or not. Very sweet model though and I love the pose with the flower.
Personal preference here, I think the technical aspects are great, I just don't have much interest in aerial photos even if it has a plane in it. The plane may be the focus but I keep wanting to see what exactly is being flown over..
As mentioned, not much of a plane fan regarding photos, but I love the CX-Starburst sunset image. I think the colors are great, the sunset really gives what I consider a dull subject much more depth and interest. I think this one is wonderful because it [i]does[i/] draw me in.
The final photo I like because it has a surreal, technical feel to me. I like the look of the cockpit - very high tech looking, but that sky adds a very weird element. Not sure how to describe it. It doesn't look like it belongs, possibly added?.. but at the same time it works, oddly enough it seems to enhance the panel, maybe the natural aspect of the sky is a subtle foil for the technology highlighted by the cockpit. Not sure.
Well those are my thoughts. Hope they are helpful in some way. :)
