It'd be nice if I could mark comments as "not helpful." Not so others could see, but for my own bookkeeping I'd like to be able to distinguish between comments I've seen but have chosen not to mark, and those I haven't even looked at. For instance, my own comments on my own images!

Perhaps another way would be to have a "new comments" flag on my homepage.

I like the flagged 'new comments' idea. When you notice a new comment in your profile, it can mean going back to try and trace it.

There is a mod that allows this.

New entries flag

Not sure if it works for IE, but if you use Firefox and the GreaseMonkey extensions it works really well.
