I have never done this before...my neighbor has her own art gallery and she has said that she would be willing to try hanging one of my pieces in her shop (according to her photography doesn't sell well in her place), but this was taken down the street from her shop so she thinks it may sell.
I would like advice on what size (what's a good size to sell) I should print this particular shot at ...where to have it printed...how to frame it (she does have a frame shop in the back of her store, but it's pretty pricey). And how to price it?
I know...I'm asking a lot...I just want to be fair and want it to be my first piece to sell.
This was one of my goals for this year...to get at least one piece in a gallery...it would be nice to accomplish it!
Thanks,

Print 11x14 at Adoramapix.com or where else you like. Frame using black frame and black mat. Frame is 16x20. Keep frame very simple. Just plain black about half inch thick.
This works for me. You can try white mat as well.

If she has a gallery, then she should know how best to frame and price it; why not trust her advice? It's in her best interest to make a sale as likely as possible ...
I'd print it as large as you have data without upsampling. The image itself does not need to fill the entire paper area, since you'll have a custom mat anyway. |
