Is it the holiday?
Is it lack of enthusiasm?
Is it that people are sick of water themes?
Is it my *poor* shot?
Oh no,....Is it my breath?
115 votes=4 comments and it's Thursday. |

103 votes and 1 comment. I made no comments on other people entries. I used to comment on about 30 to 40 entries. Not any more. I am afraid of those that dislike the fact that I haven't got much to say. The smile in the corner of their mouth or the shrug of the shoulders drive me crazy. If I knew on who's picture I comment or if they can take comments from people less qualified to comment.... I would like to leave a comment. I would need a sign by the photo to tell me: "I take any comment" or ""Comment only if you've got something smart to say". Than I would refrain from commenting on the last category and comment on the first only, without the fear that what I say might be laughed off. |

I think you should still keep commenting. I bet anyone that complained to you about your comment on their work would agree on most of your comments of others works. Not to many people see their own work the way they see others.
People take things to personally. But, I haven't seen any of your comments, you might just be a jerk. ;) (teasing)

:) :) :)
Thank you for your words... nobody complained to me... just reading in the forums about people who comment and have nothing to say... Maybe I took it too personally...

I vote a lot, but since I haven't joined yet, I can't on members only. I do however comment on some. |

I find this nice... As for me.... I would take any comments. Anything is better than a total silence. But my shot is not one of the best and because there are no comments, I don't really know what is wrong with it, because obviously there is something wrong with it.
I used to comment on the member challenges before joining as a member. |

I'm at 114 votes and 2 comments, 2 helpful comments, but only 2. And judging by my score 4.1xx I could use the comments. I know there are quite a few things wrong with it, as I rushed to get it in. I wasn't planning on using the photo when I took it so, technically, it could've been taken with more thought at the time. I realized after the fact that it might be an interesting submission, something a little different from the drops and beautiful falls, which I'm not skilled enough to take. :) But alas....
I try to make comments when I have something useful to say and since I'm a newbie that isn't always possible. Can't comment on what I don't know. But that's why I'm here. So give me feedback people! :-) |

I'm pretty sure the overall number of comments has declined since we started having two and three concurrent challenges. And a lot of people are busy and distracted around this time of year.

116 with 5 comments.
I think it is the holiday. I know I am stretched to the max and don't even know if I can get around to taking any shots in the next few days for the Macro challenge. It's just a fact of life. Come January there will be a lot more activity on the boards again and in the entries and votes and comments.
Happy Holidays to all. |

Average number of votes in members challenges is only ever 140 or so: and there's still the weekend to go. Seems normal to me.

I saw this thread last night so I made a point of staying up until midnight voting. I voted on every "Water" picture and commented on 40+ so far.

119 votes and 7 comments. I'm getting an interesting mix of comments, both positive and (slightly)negative. As I receive more comments, I've begun to realize how important it is to comment on other's works. Any feedback is a good thing. |
