I'm interested in getting a few comments if you have the time. I took the photo a few months ago and just happened across it last night while I was playing with some software and looking through about 40gb of old photos. I worked it over and produced what you see below.

Thanks,

Kev

Nice photo, I like everything about it, except the blonde's posture. The moment you took the photo makes her walking look awkward, as if she was going to topple over forwards. Maybe you can photoshop an extra leg in there to balance her out :P

I've been cheated, ain't this false advertising or something??? You can't even see the blonde... Ugghhh!

Just kidding, very nice capture!

Personally, I love these kinds of shots, have taken a few, and continue to do so. Generally speaking, I get good comments mixed with critiques like "too lonely" or "can't see her face". I see the critics' points, but respectfully disagree.

As for this specific picture, I would try to crop it so the sun sits on the 1/3 node, or its reflection intersects the 1/3 line. (Even though nobody really consciously cares about the Rule of Thirds, it does resonate subconsciously.) I would also try to make the model's silhouette larger in the photo, I think.

Really like this shot, agree with Konador though about her posture. She looks as if she is looking out to sea too, maybe would have been better if she was looking straight ahead.

Just in front of her feet, maybe about an inch on the picture there is a redish mark (sun spot maybe?) Have you tried to clone this out?

Whilst you are on the clone tool, maybe take out the two wooden posts popping out of the water?

Just things to try, I do like the photo though, honest :-)

So maybe this'll make up for my originally misleading title:

This was from our swimsuit photoshoot on the beach. She's a wonderful model; she came prepared and she worked to get some great shots.

I feathered the border on this shot; does it look OK?

The pose and model are very nice, but I feel that the body is way underexposed. I'm having a hard time making out facial features. (Yes, my monitor is reasonably well calibrated.)

It helps warm there skin tones up and supports the beach feeling a little more.

Nice looking model, nice pose and prop. A good shot with some tech issues that can be addressed: 1) The end of her foot is cut off perhaps by the feathered border process; 2) horizon/photo is not straight, 3) she's quite dark here, and the sky is overexposed (good shot to do some of the techniques to increase dynamic range, especially if shot in canon raw mode.)

Actually, I'm not sure you were asking for detailed tech comments on this one, but if so, there they are!

Regards--Neil
