Alright, this always bugged the crap out of me...

When I click thumbnails, the images open in a new window, where I'm not logged into DPC. Thus, I can't easily comment on the image without logging in again.

This is because the thumbnail links always have the "www." prefix, and I always surf without the www. prefix (call me lazy, but that's 4 more characters to type.) And login cookies are not shared between the two.

It also happens that people can post links to either "www.dpchallenge.com" or "dpchallenge.com", so you have no real control over this, and there is sadness.

But now there is joy. I wrote a quick GreaseMonkey script that looks at your current URL (whether you use the www. prefix or not), and changes all the dpc links on the page to align with your preference. This way, you'll never be logged out when you click a thumbnail or link.

Here's a couple test links:

My profile, with www prefix
My profile, without www prefix

Without my "Link Correction" script, one of the two links above will probably log you out in the new window. With the script, all links will keep you logged in.

Download it here (see notes about GreaseMonkey if you're new to DPCmods)

Cheers,
-Jeff

Maybe you already know..still worth the mention.
type dpchallenge and the Ctrl+Enter in address bar. That way you can still be lazy and in www :)

Doesn't seem to work in my browser (Firefox 2). Nonetheless, my method is type dpc, down, enter (as Firefox displays my favorite entry URL first in the list).

I realize there are other ways around this (use a bookmark, etc), but none so cool as updating all the links on the page via a custom script. =)

When your favorite tool is a hammer, most problems start to look like nails. =)

Are you talking about the wwww and the .com or just the www.
I can get to dpchallenge by typing with or without the www and I'm always logged in. It auto logs me in when I go to the site by checking the button below username/password the first time.

Am I missing something?

LOL..equally true that sometimes people use a rocket launcher to kill a mosquito. ;)

Have you seen the size of some mosquitoes?

Now back to our regularly scheduled topic. Excuse the interruption. ;o)

Just the www. And I believe it would work for you if you checked the "remember me" button in both www.dpchallenge.com and dpchallenge.com domains.

I almost never let websites (nor my browser) remember my login information - just my MO.

So maybe it was my mosquito only, but that sucker's toast!!
