I will be in Rolla Mo one day only on June 8th. I am looking for things to shoot that maybe worthwhile. If anyone has any ideas, let me know
Note: I have emailed a few photographers that are advertised as pros in the area, but have gotten no replies. |

My dad went to college in Rolla back in the late 40s - and we used to drive through the area some. It is a small city kind of in the middle of MO with not a lot around.
It is in the Ozarks so there should be some good nature shot to be had. Also, the university has an experimental mine that might be worth checking out. I think they have a replica of stonehedge as well in town.

Thanks for the reply. I got the impression it was in the middle of nothing. I know old 66 goes thru there, not sure if there is anything there or not. This is a turn and burn trip basically, I am going to get there Fri and then turn around and come back Sat. |

I'd head down Hwy 19 towards Eminence. Two of the cleanest rivers in the world merge there and you'll find plenty of nice ops. Also, there are several HUGE springs that are begging to be photographed flowing out of the ground in that area, all of which are easy to get to.
I live around the Smoky Mtns but I love the Ozarks - mainly because of the rivers I spoke of above. Not a whole lot of images on the web do this place justice. When we first discovered that area years ago we went for a day - we wound up staying almost two weeks.
A few pics here

Thanks for the tips and links. Id stay longer if I were going on a trip. I am meeting my exwife there to pick up our twins for my summer visit. She lives in Texas, and this is the town the court said to meet at. |
