I'm setting up for an exhibition and I need to print some shots on canvas, has anyone in Australia used one that they were happy with? Also anyone got anytips that I should know?

From experience, know exactly what you are ordering. I got mine shipped to me only to find out that they were not gallery wrapped. They were on canvas, mounted on the wooden internal frame, but the edges were white. I didn't know to ask for "gallery wrap".

good tip yakatme, thanks for that, I thought that was how they wraped it in a box.

Can I ask? What exactly is "gallery wrapped"? I'm also getting a few done on canvas soon.

Gallery Wrapped

Standard black Edges

The differance, now that I know is the picture is wrapped over the edge of the picture and goes right to the wall, i.e no boarder

Thank you!

I assume that having it gallery wrapped is the best way to go?

I guess so, but it depends on the look your going for. I'm not sure how they handle the corners so it could be a bit odd wrapped around them for some shots

Steven

I'm from Sydney and have just got a printer that will do up to A2+ on canvas. If I can help in any way just pm me.

We've been looking around sourcing a supplier for canvas prints and we're going to try out Achia Images. They sent through their price list to us and they seem quite competitive with a good range of sizes. I think they're in South Australia.

If you plan on doing gallery wraps, you will be sacrificing about 2 inches of your image ON EACH SIDE to the "wrap".

Most canvas companies will give you an option of gallery wrap, or solid color edges, and can also digitally "stretch" your image to obtain a gallery wrap.

If your image's crop is too tight to be able to sacrifice 2 inches per side, you may need to consider a solid color for the edges that wrap over.
