Heh. Reminds me of the mac ad where the windows guy is running Vista and keeps getting asked to confirm everything.

This is practically guaranteed to get it out of your head. It doesn't have any cheesecake though -- will mushrooms do?

Back in the 60's the last few words would have a different meaning, but would for sure get rid of the headache : )
I got the dreaded "V" request, sent the orij, got the DQ, got over it, got 1250 views and 8 comments. It finally moved from front page on my profile, and is now tucked away on the second page. No problem, learned the lesson, read the directions twice every time, and make sure I follow them to the letter.

Whew.... I just read this entire thread. Man can't we all just get along? As SC said they are open to suggestions but, imho it is all very clear. And the wording in the automated email is fine the way it is. I got a request for validation in one of my first challenges and yes I was nervous, I was new and hoped I didn't do anything wrong. I never wondered who requested nor did I have any hard feelings for them or the SC. And it was validated. SC has a thankless job. This thread scared someone away who had applied to be on the council but withdrew because of all the doo doo flying around in here.
I have requested validation on shots before but they were on obvious things. Whenever I've requested one though I cut and paste from the ruleset that I believe to have been violated. Then I also explain what I see in the shot that violates that rule. I realize that with a few exceptions no one intentionally violates the rules but that photog needs to be made aware when it does happen so they don't do it again. Wouldn't it really suck bad apples if you got the blue and through the normal validation process for the top 5 you get DQ'd on something you've been doing all along and no one caught it? Then you'd be saying, but i didn't realize that was wrong and no one's questioned it before?
Anyway I don't see a need for a change. If I knew who the photog was when I requested a validation then I'd send a PM to tell them why but obviously that can't happen.
Well sweet dreams to those of you still awake and following this thread and good morning Karmat since you're already in bed now and won't be seeing it till the sun shines again. |

I've submitted a few validation requests. Not a lot, but some. When I do so I am not doing so thinking "arrrr! Avast a scury cheater!" but more "how the heck did they do that?"
So, from me at least, you should take such a request as a compliment. It means "oooer, I couldn't do that with these rules".
Except for them that's just added text, of course, when the request means "sorry mate, but you slipped up." |

hate to bump a dead thread, especially one that has been resolved, but I did want ya'll to know that I did check in to see if I needed to follow through with anything (it seems to me it was all answered).
