My son loves to see pictures of airplanes. This is great becasue i travel alot, but am curious about something. Can i take my Digital Camera (Nikon D50) on an airline? If so can i shoot from my seat?

heck yea! I don't fly without my camera in hand. It's the only thing that keeps me sane during long flights.

Sure. That's how I got these shots:

Use DPC's photo search for "in flight" and you'll see several examples of pics taken out the window.

Were you thinking there'd be some security restriction?

of course you can, I wouldn't go trying to photograph the cockpit as you get on or be running around photographing every inch of the plane but you should not have any problems what so ever with it.

The only time I've ever had problems was when the security guy had apparently never seen a camera before and had to take EVERYTHING out of the bag. Then when he's done he pushes it all over to me and says "ok thanks". Dang man, leave me with the camera, 2 lenses, batteries, cards, book, cords, coins, all tons of crap just sitting there! He was probably just jealous of my little oly C3000 lol.

I think next time I'm gonna go through and have the camera on remote mode and as they pick it up and look at it click the button and let it flash em lol.

One thing to remember is auto focus doesn't always work right through that window.
