OK, so not that exciting, but I jumped in on an auction in the last 8 seconds a few weeks ago and got a Sigma 28-105 2.8-4 for 80.00 just like new. Well, of course it didnt have the new chips so I had to send it back to Sigma to be rechipped so I could even TRY the lens. They sent it back today and it works. Now I have to see if it's as bad as the MTF charts show it is. Any of you guys ever use one? Good? Bad? Indifferent? |

Never used one, but I'm interested in your findings. IMHO the MTF charts for the wide angle zooms ALL look desperately bad, even for "L" glass. Just a side effect of bending the light that much. The results don't tend to look quite as bad as the charts tho.

Thanks kirbic, I'll be doing some test shots this weekend. I know all lenses are different, even if the same lens the manufacturing process will produce varying results, maybe I got a good one. I'll post some results back here. |
