Sometimes, when opportunity knocks...

As a quote in Ice Hockey referring to hitting the puck into the net, for a Goal, "Shoot first ask questions later"

Think-research-discuss, then seek-pursue-create, the opportunity.

"What is Your Thought Process?"

Pure logic.

Very well said. You have reached a level where you and camera are one. One day I hope to be at that level.

I don't really think at all... maybe that's my problem? I just find I am not good at visualizing and anything I come up with never turns out that way (sometimes worse, sometimes better) and I should just go with it!

If I and my camera become one, I think it might be time to upgrade something or perhaps GET LAID. :-P

It's a tool, I use it. I'm never gonna become one with a hammer either.

This one time at band camp...

I could certainly guarantee a flute would be more comfy than a camera ;-)

Just don't post the pics here. Your shots have been interesting, but this might be crossing the line.

I think there are two kinds of processes going at the same time: one technical, which includes a mental check of all the mechanical stuff (shutter speed, aperture, dof, light, etc) and one artistic, which is harder to define but includes composition, what the photographer is trying to convey/evoke...

A little exercise..Next time you are about to take an image, stop. Look at the position you are in, your vantage point and do this. Change that position for the same framing. Lie down on the ground and get the camera as low to the ground and shoot. Notice the difference? Just one of many exercises. A little paradigm shift exercise..

I know how you feel. However I have been able to realize the image in my mind by using the basis of my image and build on it in Photoshop to get what I wanted to accomplish. Being an artisan photographer, generally what you see is what you get i.e. my lighting etc. However for my next shoot "Re-Loaded" there will be CD trays, Bank Distributers, Battery Rechargers, VCR Machine Slots in the Models Body which would be difficult to accomplish in real time.
