grrrrrrrrrrrrr
After hours on the phone w/ my "friendly paypal support person" I'm out $60.00 bucks.
I had fraudulant charges made with my PP debit card last month, so I call and cancel the card, report subsequent attempts to use it etc.
I look at my account this morning, and what do you know? more charges to the tune of $60 on a cancelled card!
The rep I talk to says, Oh we never cancelled it and there is no record of you requesting us to do so!!!!!!!
&%#)$*#)$*)(#++++@$)(#%)O
you can imagine my reaction! I may get the money back, if I can prove I didn't authorize the purchases! maybe in 3 weeks...
can you believe this?
I'm so angry right now.
grrr vent rant etc etc

There's been a worm attached to paypal. I got about four email alerts that a worm was attached to the paypal account. I hate when you cancel & then they tell you there is no record. I try tot ake operator #'s and such & keep a written record when I spoke to people, date & time. What bastards!

Oh I know... I have some of the emails to prove I did, but that seems to be not enough.
Plus when I asked to be transferred to a supervisor to complain he wouldn't do it. And said it was company policy to not do that, and it woudn't make any difference even I did talk to when.
At that point I said a bad word and he hung up on me!!!!

Call and file a complaint with the Texas State Attorney Generals office.
That will not make them very happy :)

I stopped using paypal about two months ago. An ebay buyer claimed I hadn't sent their merchandise. Despite having paid for the postage with my PayPal debit card, the fact that I hadn't gotten delivery confirmation meant I didn't have enough proof for Paypal. They have flagged my account...I can't use it or close it unless I'm willing to pay this fraudulent buyer more than $80.
The fact that I'm the FOURTH person this same buyer has done this to didn't matter to either PayPal OR Ebay (They are now the same company). I would suggest to anyone who uses PayPal with any frequency that you might want to find another way to pay or recieve money via the internet.
As for the problems with fraudulent charges, I know of at least one case personally where someone used a paypal account to clean out someone else's checking account...more than $500. They're big, but they don't give a fig for the fact that their system isn't secure and that folks are rarely given the opportunity to prove themselves.

I hate this crap. Ebay sucks & so doe spaypal. It's just too easy for hackers to get our info. Is paypal stationed in Texas? Bc I will file a complaint.
$60 or $80, that's a lot of money! The fact that they didnt put you thru to a sup is so illegal! I wouldnt take that crap! I would fight back. Keep calling until you get someone willing to do the right thing. At the very least you'll have phone records proving you called. Record it if you can as well thru an answering machine or something. This stuff really gets under my skin!

I use PayPal a lot and I also DO NOT store my login info for PayPal. Makes it to easy for a hacker if you store your login for PayPal. I haven't had any trouble with it so far. Although I know others who have and those who have trouble all store the login info. |

I have never had any problems with paypal, and I use it fairly frequently with ebay transactions, nothing high dollar though. I believe there headquarters are here in Nebraska, atleast I believe that is where they originated, whether that is there main office yet or not I do not know. |

Oh, I'm fighting alright..
Had to cool down, I'll call again tomorrow and try and get a supervisor.
As soon as this is resolved I'm cancelling my account.
I've been with them since they started, way before ebay bought them out.
It used to be good company with excellent customer service now it's total crap.
The fact that they refuse to flag the account and insist on completeing the transactions is so wrong.
They won't even put a hold on the money.
Plus they've changed the policies so if you sell anything they object to, eg erotic photos,, they can freeze your money with no warning.
ah well
life in the fast lane, hey?

When I ask to speak to a supervisor I always tell the person I'm speaking to initially that I recieved excellent service and I just want to get some praise for that person.
The almost always immediately put you through to the supervisor because they think you will mention them too. :-)
