Looks like this is turning out to be a great day for all...thanks everyone for wonderful comments on my Chassis shot for PWL. And thanks for not telling me to go get stuffed for whining so much, lol!

nah, won't go on a whine-fest over these ones, lol. My Pure has a slight technical problem and Candid's not as enthralling as other Candids.

Time to go comment and vote!

Actually, god, yes, tell me about it. I thought I did something stupid and really messed up a friendship, but I got the loveliest email in the world a couple of hours ago, and it turns out I haven't. And everything else is coming together too - whatever social drama was happening recently seems to have sorted itself out, and life is kind of normal and happy again. I can focus on taking pictures instead :)

Oh, sure!

You get a 6+ for a grinder on a car, and I get slammed for my shot of a piece of automotive history!......8>)

Way to go, Susan!!!

It's about time you got that shot!

BTW, all kidding aside, I think your shot was voted low......if the masses knew how hard it is to get the detail that you have without blowing out in the stream of sparks.......well, some of us know!

Nice job!

Woohoo for resolved drama!

I'm off to Oklahoma for a family reunion tonight, but I should get back on Sunday in time to post up challenge results and maybe even submit an entry for one or more of the challenges. If I'm really lucky I can do the daily trivia thing with what passes for internet access down there.

Being half Korean, my son will be the, um, most racially diverse person in the group. I grew up in the San Francisco area, away from most of my family, and it's still a culture shock for me to be in such a homogenous group.

Great to hear things have worked out well, Jelena. I can't wait to see pics of drink-making lemurs in Madagascar! And you got a new PB too, attagirl! Those of us stuck at 5'10 forever, salute you!

btw...speaking of height and drama...you could possibly top out at 6'1...I heard that boys stop growing at age 22, girls at age 25. I was 5'8 in highschool, 5'9 1/2 when I was your age...but since age 25 I've been 5'10. I'm a fount of useless knowledge. :-)

Rob, have fun at your family reunion, tell your son to hold his head high and be proud of who he is.

Okay.....so here's a question.

First, a million thanks for all the comments on my barn. I love that they were in some cases opposing points of view, and yes, Jeffrey, I'll be the first to admit I'm heavy-handed with vignetting.

But I also really like that look.

My question? Can I/we have somewhere to upload shots that we want to see where someone else might go with the shot?

I'd like to see Jeffrey's take, someone was talking about some color changing, there was cropping mentioned......I'd love to see what you all would do with it, and I'd just as soon put up a close to original image that doesn't have any layers or changes so you could mess with it in its unmolested best.

Should I just pop up the jpeg flipped from the RAW image?

I'd have to wait 'til I got home, but it'd be evening yet.

Maybe someone can make a "Team Suck" google group that we could use for online shared storage for things like this.

Sartre's tuna casserole

The black ridges are not bad editing. They're, um, the darkness closing in, and a representation of the void.

I invited fotomann_forever to come visit,he seems a little competition lagged today. I've cleared my washing of a hammock and got him a beer and if he doesn't show I've got myself set for the afternoon :D

What's the most common question in my comments? C'mon everybody, say it with me: "Do YOU like it?" :)

Jeb, having seen the original, I commend you on your editing! You took a so-so shot and gave it a lot more interest, at least to me.

As for the total unanimity in the comments, all I can say is welcome to DPC! *laugh*

I don't want to mess with your picture - my cropping suggestion was just that: a suggestion to try something and see whether you like it.

Edited to thank skewsme - Sartre's cookbook is the best laugh I've had for a while.
