I'm in a hurry to get an image edited and submitted as I may not be able to access the internet in time to submit it later.

Here is my dilemma.
Every time I try to open a file in gimp, this window pops up that says "jpeg exe. must close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." then another "Please tell microsoft about this problem. Send an error report."

It's driving me nuts.
Nomatter which picture I try to open, it does this.
Please don't try to act smart. "Well garsh, did ya restart your computer?" This has been going on for over a week. I HIGHLY doubt restarting will do anything other than destroy my essays.
I need to know what this jpeg exe. plugin is and how I can fix it. Opening images to MS paint is working fine, but that sure doesn't help me alot.

Help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling GIMP. It is probably a corrupted file that GIMP needs to operate.

1 - Save your essay's, no excuses because the computer could self restart or the power can go out so no excuses about them now. (Something as little as the video card moving 2mm in its slot can restart a machine instantly with no warning.).

IF U CANT FIX GIMP

2 - If you can open it in MS Paint you can make it a BMP this will hurt nothing except the exif data.... this doesn't solve saving.

3 - Download Paint.NET great editing tool... if u like adobe elements lol. Download it its a few mb save the file as a JPEG and slide the quality slider just like u would in photoshop and stuff.

As i said its a last ditch attempt.
My indepth look t Paint.NET:

You may also have to uninstall/reinstall the GTK+ 2 Runtime Environment
