I got 25. Of those I missed, one I should have gotten (stripes on a USFlag), 3 I might have gotten (unluck for some, pairs of chromosomes, and men on a dead mans chest), and 4 I would have never in a million years gotten (rugby, cricket and the South Africa ones - assuming "9 provinces in south africa" is right).

And I don't buy this being any indication of intelligence - maybe latteral thinking ability, but many of the answers are two culturally or triva based to be a gauge of intelligence. But its fun though.

Here are my answers on the rest (in case they differ from anyone else's):
1. 26 letters of the alphabet
2. 7 days of the week
3. 7 wonders of the world
4. 12 signs of the zodiac
5. 66 books of the bible
6. 52 cards in a pack (witout jokers)
8. 18 holes on a golf course
9. 39 books of the old testement
10. 5 toes on foot
11. 90 degrees in a right angle
12. 3 blind mice (see how they run)
13. 32 is the temperature in degrees farenheit at which water freezes
15. 3 wheels on a tricycle
17. 11 players in a football (soccer) team
18. 12 months in a year
20. 8 tentacles on an octopus
21. 29 days in February in a leap year
22. 27 books in the new testement
23. 365 days in a year
24. 13 loaves in a bakers dozen
25. 52 weeks in a year
26. 9 lives of a cat
27. 60 minutes in an hour
29. 64 squares on a chess board
32. 1000 years in a millenium

I don't know how they can equate cultural knowledge with intelligence.

Sure, a lot of them are general in nature, but how many non-Christians will get the biblical books, non-English language background get the blind mice, non-sporty types get the football and so on.

Furthermore, it's a very, very slippery slope to think that intelligence is the same as only being able to link letters. Gardner talks of at least 8 kinds of intelligence: spatial (of importance to us photographers); intra and inter personal; musical; kinesthetic; naturalistic, all of which have very little to do with the traditional, Mensa-type prioritised ones of logical-mathematical and linguistic.

150 C in a C of DP = 150 calories in a can of dr. pepper?

Um, I thought the idea of DIET was 0 calories. It's probably something more obvious like, 150 cookies in a crackhouse of digital photography.

:P
1927 was the Year that the Pacific Ocean Was Crossed by Lindberg (sp?)... Not sure about PC (1927 was the Year the Pacific Crossing was Completed?) I'm pretty sure it's in reference to that...

2067 Photoshops by Louie Anderson in High School? He must have some mad PS skillz.

Koriyama's right. This has nothing to do with intelligence. More like "how many sayings have you heard of?"

Heh, Dr. Pepper isn't diet (Diet Dr. Pepper is) so 150 calories would be about right and it might still fit.

My first thought for the 1927 was 1927 Year that Prince Charles was conceived but.. he isn't that old - just looks like it. ;)

i am stupified! i was just sitting here in the middle of the night reading through this thread (which BTW has been around for YEARS - at least here in the IT community in SoCal) and i had to pull a few of my own out of my nether regions -- i grabbed one of the 20+ empty DP cans from the top of my monitor and read the contents ....

the other 2 are a bit (?!?!?) more obscure, but the 1927 'year' guess is a good place to start, as well as the HS = high school deduction ... :)

Kind of entertaining, nothing to do with intelligence.

I saw this in a forward before, I think the Mensa connection is fabricated, though I'm not positive.

Ones I missed (comments):

5. 66 B of the B - 66 books of the bible
-cww: Should have got this since I got the other 2.

6. 52 C in a P (WJs) - 52 CARDS in a PACK (WITHOUT JOKERS)
-cww: OK, this is a trick question. Who refers to a DECK of cards as a Pack!!?? 21 correct answer now, cause I KNEW THIS!

7. 13 S in the USF - 13 STRIPES on the UNITED STATES FLAG
-cww: Damn! I couldn't figure out "USF". This should have been shown as "U S F", not "USF".

14. 15 P in a R T - 15 players in a rugby team
-cww: No clue about rubgy, although it's still a decent question because it's answerable unless you have NEVER heard the word Rugby. Good one.

16. 100 C in a R - 100 cents in a dollar
-cww: WHAT!! Shouldn't the "R" be "D" (as in dollar)??? LOL.
22 correct answers now, because I Knew this one too. :)

17. 11 P in a F (S) T - 11 players in a football (soccer) team
-cww: Yep, missed that one with no excuses.

19. 13=UFS - 13 = UNLUCKY FOR SOME
-cww: No excuses missing this one. Except it should be worded: "13 is U F S", not 13=UFS.

20. 8 T on a O - 8 TENTACLES on an OCTOPUS
-cww: No excuses missing this one.

24. 13 L in a B D - 13 loaves in a bakers dozen
-cww: Not a good question (unless you happen to work in a bakery).

28. 23 P of C in the H B - 23 pairs of chromosomes in the human body
-cww: No excuses missing this one.

30. 9 P in S A - 9 provinces in south Africa
-cww: No excuses.

31. 6 B to an O in C - 6 BALLS to an OVER in CRICKET
-cww: Bad question. Way to specific concerning the rules of a game that 95% of the World will have no idea about.

33 15 M on a D M C - 15 MEN on a DEAD MAN'S CHEST
-cww: Bad question.

This was fun!! Thanks, Bamaster for posting it.
