Damn, I wish we could find THAT one! Becky-Lee is a spider fanatic :D
Geocaching is a fantastic excuse to get out for some exercise and discovery. At Long Beach (BC, not CA) we were zeroing in on one, couldn't find the trail entrance, then saw someone coming around the end of a concrete barrier. We discovered a closed off road that narrowed to a path after a while, then forked into a barely-marked path through a bog, leading to a secluded beach. A scramble over the rugged shoreline, around the point, then a climb onto a large outcropping led to success.
My son, the basement-troll, was like a bloodhound, when a mere walk on the beach would have had him griping greatly.
We discovered afterwards that the expected route was by a much easier and shorter path, and the one we'd taken had been built for an X-files episode then closed off, now used by local youths.
We had to leave as darkness approached, but we'll definitely take that path again next time we're up there! :)

I want to make a travel bug and have DPC members help snatch it up and take it all over the world. We have to be quick on our feet so that regular non-DPC members can't grab it. I just need to figure out what to send out and make sure there are people who would like to do this? Maybe we would have to rely on non-DPC to help get it around since there may not be that many DPC members into geocaching. |

My E-trex just died...not what I need.
Anyway, I have 2 travel bugs out there.
Wilbur the Hedgehog has over 15000 miles on him and has circled the globe.
Buford the Hedgehog, his brother, has less then 1200 miles and needs to go east.

I'm giving my partner 2 travel bugs and a geocoin for Christmas, our geocaching ID is jdawson. Keep an eye out for them in the coming year. We will decide after Christmas what to attach the travel bugs to and what to name them. I do like the spider idea.

My sister was in town for the weekend and got me started on geocaching. I logged five finds within a mile of my house. Now I gotta consider buying a more suitable GPS. What fun! |
