Hey guys. I just want to give a nod to Comet Camera Repair. They are a factory authorized repair center for Nikon, Canon, Fuji, Kodak, Konica Minolta, Olympus, Pentax and Samsung. I took my son's Nikon P&S which is under warranty there yesterday about 4pm. Got it back today at 2pm, fixed. Less than 24 hours turnaround. The lens had froze up (closed position and the barrel was stuck). No charge, no shipping, no customer service people to deal with. Happy, happy, happy!!
They are located at 809 W. Rt. 70, Cherry Hill, NJ 08002. Telephone # 856-857-9250. So, if you're in the area and need warranty repair (of course they do out of warranty too) give them a try. |

| That's pretty damned good service! I took my Canon 28-135mm lens in to Jessops today - 4 days left on the warranty, phew, cut that fine - as the zoom sticks at 70mm and it won't focus, and I have been told it wil be an absolute minium of 6 weeks before I get it back. |

I sent my camera out with only 4 days left on the warranty. I told the guy at the camera shop, I wasn't even 100% sure something was wrong with the camera, or if it was that I was doing something wrong. He said, "Well, let's send it out before the warranty expires, and let Cannon worry about it."
He said two weeks until I get it back. As long as I have it back by my son's graduation, I'm ok. |

Last year in november I took my rebel xt to a canon service center here in sweden, it was makin rattling noises, it looked like some one hade filled the penta prism with sand and sometimes it just frooze.
I told them I needed it for a job two days later and they promised to speed the repair up a bit. They had three technicians working on it at the same time, they called me at least five times during the repair and asked me about different things.
It took less then 20h from drop of to pick up, and then they had changed the focusing screen, adjusted the af and cleaned the sensor for free. |

I have a vision of an operating theatre and surgeons and nurses kitted out in gloves and surgical masks... Thinking about it, the technicians probably do wear gloves and surgical masks.... |
