Found another answer to one of my questions in the original post and I thought I'd post it here since it could help someone else:

#1) Is there a way to tell it where photoshop is?

Lightroom does not recognize Photoshop

Perform this at your own risk. Here's how to fix it:

1) Run regedit.exe from start menu->run
2) Look for this folder:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\photoshop.exe

In that folder, there should be a key "Path" and its value should be the folder where Photoshop (any Photoshop version) is installed."

If your registry does not have that folder, created it and add a "Path" key with the value being the path to Photoshop:

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS2\

My lightroom folder seems to have a "mirror" of a number of my folder trees (under "Managed Photos"). They are empty, but I'm wondering why it does that, and if it's not some "fluke" or bug. It does waste some space (there are 320 folders there). Anyone know?

Also, it keeps backups in it's own folder tree. I don't recall it offering me a different place to put it (but there may be one ins settings). I'm going to move them to secondary storage; you might want to have a look and do the same for yours, if you haven't already done so.

Lastly, anyone have any answers to unanswered questions at the start of this thread, I'd be happy to hear about it, or again, feel free to use the thread to post tips and other technical info/questions about lightroom!

I have one problem with lightroom and I'm wondering if anyone can help me. When I shoot RAW+JPG my JPEGs look better and I just can't get the same look in Lightroom no matter how much I try to edit RAW.

Has anyone had this problem?

If someone would like to take a swing at this, I uploaded RAW and JPG on my website. So if you can come up with settings that will match look of RAW file to what JPG looks like please let me.

Thanks

Nick
