I work full time in a bank. The bank has just been sold to a private investor, which is causing a lot of stress amongst my co-workers and providing plenty to do, and which also has me vying for a promotion which, if I get it, will also mean a lot more work.
I'm also a part-time MBA student, in classes two nights a week and generally struggling to keep up with my homework and projects when I'm not, weekends included. I haven't hung out with my friends in months.
If I have 20 minutes between class and bedtime, or between work and class, or if I'm stressed out and frustrated and I just need a break, I'll turn my camera on whatever's around, which is usually the cat. Sometimes I take my camera with me to work and spend my lunch hour at a nearby park, or, like today, bust it out when things get slow. (Luckily my co-workers are used to this, and even have a tendency to point out things they think I should take pictures of.) It's not producing anything stunning, but it works to help keep that part of me from dying. Crazy things happen to me when I don't have a creative outlet.
I'm not out getting stunners at the moment, though. Like I said, lots of pictures of the cat. BUT I expect to have more time this summer, when I'll be working full time, working on ONE class instead of two (and taking it online), and hunting for a condo. Yeah, that's more time for shooting. At least it better be...
So no, you're not alone.

Because I do a lot of driving and I am usually the driver I always stop to take photos (not sure I even want to learn the Brad Technique!). The kids are getting used to it now and dont even complain anymore. As a matter of fact the locals are also getting used to it as I have several comments that they saw me the other day. When I ask where they answer that I was on the side of the road taking photos of something. A lot of my nature photos are taken from the side of the road or I walk up to the fence and shoot over it. |

Don't listen to anyone else, they do not tell but lies.
You are the only one.
Everyone else at the very least carries at the very minimum one body, two lens sets (one prime, one telephoto), a mono pod (disquised as a cane during meetings), twelve filters, two 8 gig CF cards, a G5 notebook, pocket wizards, and a bee bee kit.
If you don't have these yet, then you had better knuckle down, and start getting going.
Your lagging behind.;)

Not perfected by far, but I've been known to balance the camera on the top of my steering wheel. Then I just stop looking at it and I get what I get. That's how I got some of my blizzard pics in December, actually.

I spend some weekends "following the lens". I head off in a general direction, but never have a plan and could end up anywhere. SatNav in the car rocks! Its when I get some quiet time. Its how I relieve stress. Its my treat, better than chocolate.

I can't imagine getting a good photograph with a brick, but if you want you can stop by and build me a wall... |

Oh. I never knew that technique was Trademarked. lol |
Well he seems to have perfected it so I called it that. :P
Besides, I'm working on the Yanko Technique, which involves a complicated setup of ropes and pulleys. I hope to capture masterpieces while both my hands are free to be put behind my head as I kick back and watch. :P
