I have belong to DPC for quite awhile, but have yet to post anything. I am just starting out doing some photography here and there. I entered a few pictures into my county fair and did quite well, better than I thought I would. I still don't feel confidant though and am hoping that getting others feedback I can start to learn and maybe get a bit of confidence in my work. Any feedback you can give me is truly appreciated. Thanks in Advance
The story behind this picture is that it is a rose from a rose bush I planted in my backyard when I had a miscarriage. So whenever I get roses from it I always say that they are roses from Lucas, which is what I would have named my baby if it was a boy. I did a little editing on it. Enjoy.

I don't see anything particularly wrong in this picture. The lighting is perhaps a little uneven. Perhaps the bottom background green leaves are not needed. Overall though, I like the crop.
Don't hesitate to post a ton of stuff. That is how I learned and grew as a photographer. |

Looks like you have a good grasp of composition and technicals such as focus and depth of field. Always be confident to put your stuff out there...people will be very helpful and there is lots to learn by participation.
In this photo, a slight desaturation of the greens might allow the lovely petals to stand out a little more. The green is very rich and vivid and it competes with the soft colors of the bloom. The dark BG gives it a nice contrast. |
