Anyone else have a problem with editing images in Photoshop, putting them back on a CF card via a CF card reader and then trying to view them in the camera or print them in a CF card ready printer? As soon as I color correct the image it becomes photo non-grata for both the camera and any printer I put it in. I've tried saving without the ICC profile. I've tried saving with more compression or less compression. I'm at a loss here. Why can't the camera see the image when it can easily see the original on the same card (I just incremented the file name by one number - 291_1100 became 291_1101).
Thanks,
Kev

This is only a guess -- some (all?) camera manufacturers have proprietary thumbnail generating systems. You're not actually viewing the image, you're viewing a thumbnail on the camera. So, when you make a change, there's no thumb attached... |

Nikon user here, same problem. A minor change will make the camera show the image for a split second then error. And *forget* about rotating it, copying it back then trying to view it on camera. |

The camera uses a DCIM filesystem that are mantained by a file in root dir of the card. If the file was not created with the camera it wont be recognized by subtle diferences in the physical file format, especially in byte order. When you copy the file to your computer the file signature of JPEG, for sample, is changed by your system. The JPEG viewers are ready to read the file content without this physical portion of file, but your camera don´t do it. |
