My open/close button on my dvd burner has almost completely stopped working, I have to hold it pressed for about 30 seconds to get it open the drawer and that only works about 1/4 of the time.
The thing is I can right click the drive letter and choose "eject" and it pops open without any issues.
My question is-- is there a way to create a shortcut on my desktop to open my dvd drawer with just one click?
I know its not that big of deal going to the properties of the drive and choosing eject, just wondering if there is a shortcut I can create to make things just a little faster.. |

first off, you can get a new drive for <$20
but to answer your question, if you just drag the drive icon to the desktop to make a shortcut you can right click that and say eject
or you can make a txt file and put in the line:
d: eject
d: being your drive. Then just rename the file drive.bat or whatever .bat
double click the file and it should eject the drive |

Installed it, seems to work good-- I created 2 hotkeys to open & close the drawer, not an option to create a desktop icon to open and close, but its a good solution for now. |
