I've noticed this before. I have some actions to create resize images and create thumbnails for the web. Of course I'm doing this while at work, so I have 20 windows open (Windows XP BTW).

After the action is completed, I proof the images. I'm noticing the settings (like crop, exposure, color balence) are lost sometimes. This usually happens when I have a bunch of other stuff open since I am at work.

Has anyone else having this problem? Is there a solution to it besides closing other programs?

I should add that doing 8 or 10 images at a times helps fix the problem, but that defeats the purpose of batching.

Well, I guess I'm the only one having this problem. I think I have a pretty good system.

2.80GHz processor with 1GB RAM. I'll have to check my swap too.

Good idea.

1. Medium Size => Fit Image 640 x 640

2. Curves => Simple S curve

3. Smart Sharpen => 50% 1 pixel with lens blur

4. Copyright Image
---------> File Info add Copyright info
---------> Add text layer of Copyright
---------> Set layer fill to 50%
---------> Add shadow to layer

5. Image title
---------> Add text layer
---------> Add shadow

6. Add border
---------> Resize canvas
---------> Drop shadow

7. Save meduim place

8. Resize to small
---------> Fit image to 160 x 160

9. Save small place

10. Close image

i can't see any cropping happening in this action, are you talking about changing the canvas size? if so how are you doing this? (ie are you using the relative command?)

exposure? do you manually change the curves, or is it all part of the automation? it could be that when the curves action is run, the curve setup for a particular pic is wrong and is making the other images too light/dark..

the colour balance is wrong? are you shooting aRGB and then viewing on web? you'll need to add an extra action to change to sRGB for web viewing.. (Edit> Convert to Profile> sRGB)

if you make a new folder in your actions pallet, you can drag the action to that folder and then save it, upload it somewhere and we can download and take a look at the exact settings you're using for this stuff

Let me try to explain it better. I have these actions set up. They work fine.

I only run into problems when I have a bunch of other applications going at the same time (I'm at work processing these images, so I still have to work).

I use bridge to select the images I want processed. In bridge, I've already rotated, cropped, and set exposure. Then I select the images and batch them to photoshop.

The actions work fine, but I lose the modifications I've done in bridge (cropping, rotating, and exposure).

Again, this only happens when I have other applications open. The solution is to close all applications, but this is hard to do since I'm working hard at work (or hardly working).

I haven't used Bridge in a while but is there a parameter that needs to be set to pass the images into PS with the Bridge adjustments?

Nope, you just highlight the images and on the menu, goto Tools/Photoshop/Batches...

No good responses? Okay, I'll try some other forums. I'll post if I find anything. Maybe I'm the only one experiencing this.

I've never experienced it but the place to go would be the Adobe forums.
