How did you edit out the baby and make the stuffed monkey look so real, Ken?

Haha, that is so mean.

I took a stab at #4....
There's a lot of information there to work with. Even in the low-resolution file there were tweaks to be made...but the full files would be much easier.

It seems like you're working in close proximity with the subject. Everything is crunched together....the baby is against the backdrop, the depth of field is too deep, the flash is directly into the baby's eyes.

In my edit I darkened the pupils of the eyes and move the highlight off-center. I didn't bother to do anything with the shadow behind the baby but did try to soften the background. I messed with exposure adjustments...(I'd say "levels" because that's what I have in PS Elements2...but I'd be "corrected" by people who have "curves" and stronger tools at hand... ;-P).

If you can re-shoot, do. If you can't, you have something to work with anyway. I saved the quick edits I made in Photoshop layers...I'd be happy to expand on what I did if you think it'd be useful to you. (If not, no worries...I like trying out other people's stuff.)

As has already been mentioned, the lighting really needs to be worked on.

In my edit, I attempted to simulate a little bit better lighting by making it look less "flat".

I noticed afterwards there are a few little oddities in the coloring. In part because I first went for a black and white image... then later copied the original back over top of the b&w in a color-mode layer.

Here is my attempt... :)
