Hi,

Ive been wondering if there are any remote shutter releases that enable you to set the apeture/speed values from the remote device??? Ive got a standard shutter release - but would like to take multiple exposures without handling the camera when mounted on a tripod.

(preferably for use with a canon)

Thanks

Tim

The Canon Remote Timer can let you set the shutter duration, although it uses milliseconds instead of the fraction (1/250) method so you'd have to do a quick math conversion. Won't set the aperture though.

There's Canon Remote Capture software if you hook your cam up to a computer, but I'm not sure offhand if that will let you change the settings or not.

Are you using a sturdy enough tripod? Most decent tripods will let you make settings changes (with a light touch) without moving the camera. I would recommend a good tripod if nothing else.

I believe that the Remote Timer only goes down to seconds. One would have to be in bulb mode to change exposure via shutter time, but couldn't alter the aperture.

It should allow you to alter settings, such as aperture and shutter speed, although on a 350D, you cannot change, for instance, from Av to Tv via the computer.

Definitely the best solution.

Oops, I think you're right. I haven't used mine in a while in that mode. Thanks.

Will remote capture run on a Windows PDA, and will that PDA hook up to the usb port on the camera?
