A wedding last week convinced me I need the 70-200 2.8 IS lens sooner rather than later...so I went and ordered it up a few minutes ago. $1717 and a few pennies...should be here Wednesday if B&H is true to form. I may not sleep for next few days LOL

I got the 17-55 2.8 IS last month - my single most costly lens, and my first IS lens. The wedding on Friday was DARK- I'm talking ISO 1600 at F4 and 1/20 second DARK. At 2.8 that still only 1/40 of a second! The 17-55 got images, nothing else would (well, the 85 1.8 would, but NO DOF). I still lost a few to subject motion blur as it was THAT slow.

Anyone need a good 70-210 2.8 lens? My Tamron is up for grabs - asking $550 w/ shipping (conti us) and paypal, but i'm open to offers! It's a very good lens, but just not IS. PM if interested - it's going on ebay next week if I have no takers.

Buyer's remorse only lasts a few days, but the images you take with that lense will last a lifetime.

I don't expect remorse, just a bit of heart beat arythmia if anyone be me ever touches it LOL

My backpack is getting to be scary valuable. I have insurance, but it's coming close to what my car is worth. Too much value to hold in my hand.

Don't worry too much, my camera bag is now worth more than twice the value of either of our cars...

Just don't leave the camera bag in the car, you'll have a hard time getting the claim settled if the car gets nicked!

ROFL.

Yeah, it's always a bit weird when you've got the last year's wages sitting in a bag and you're looking through your viewfinder at a bird a few hundred feet away. yeck.

Good move Prof. Glad to see that things are moving along for you.

Man, that's one dark wedding... Maybe a 50mm f/1.4?
