what a great day to be out shooting. these are some of the 1000+ frames i shot at the VCU-Willam & Mary baseball game this afternoon...

i'll probably deliver about 700+ images from the game. some will be used on their website, some in newsletters, and some might make it into next year's media guide. and i was told that the hitting coach has been using some of my sequence shots of the batters to help disect their swings.

i don't care what anyone says to the contrary...you can never shoot too much. it's all practice, and the more you practice, the better you get. this is so true shooting sports. if you don't practice, you'll never truly be able to anticipate or react to those moments that unfold before you...

I agree Skip, I love to click the shutter count up when I'm shooting sports. I shot 300 at a HS lacrosse game Wednesday afternoon. I love to go through my shots and see the sequence and pick what I feel is the best. BTW what lens are these with?

i shot all of these with my 70-200L f/2.8 IS and a 1.4 TC. the f-stop was f/4, iso400, and shutters ranged from 1/1600 to 1/8000. and i set my wb to 'sunny' ;-)

OK I gotta ask, where are all of the fans in the stands? Looks like lots of good seats empty in the photos.

they were sitting in the shaded first base side, behind me ;-)

even though college baseball usually doesn't attract more than friends and family, probably a couple hundred fans turned out for this game. it's also pretty cool that vcu gets to play in the richmond braves minor league park.
