Well, I went and did it. I switched to Canon. I'm purchasing a 5D and the new MarkIII. I needed to upgrade and decided to go back to Canon. It was a tormenting decision. There are so many pros and cons about both that it truly was a difficult decision to make. I've never been one of those life long FORD or CHEVY types. I've owned both and have been happy with both. They each drove different and had their little quirks but, that's what it's all about right? Anyway Canon had a few more plus marks in the pro box so I had to say goodbye for now to Nikon. Who knows Nikon could very well come out with something that I just have to have at a later date an I could switch back. But for now I have this re-learning curve to look forward to. Hey Brad P what are you doing for lunch for the next... ohhh say 3 or 4 months?

Welcome to the Canon fold (or welcome back I guess)! You'll be very happy with the 5D, and it sure sounds like the 1DmkIII is going to be a killer sports machine.

Edit: When you pulled the trigger on the "Canon," I hope it wasn't pointed at anyone ;-)

Why'd you buy two? Surely the 5D is enough of an upgrade from your D70 to get you started? Just intrigued, thats all.

Yeah I am in the same boat, trying to decide between upgrading to the D200 the 30D or maybe 5D.
