The A630/640 among many powershots has an adapter with threads on it for mounting two lens accessories.

I have noticed that the S2 and S3 has after market filter kits that utilize the canon lens adapter.

Is this the same for the A630/640.

The A630/640 use the LA-DC58F adapter that is also used on the A610/620. It has a 58mm diameter. Just to add more info.

EDIT - To quote amazon.com "# Conversion lens adapter provides a 58-millimeter filter mount" I like that quote kinda says "Yes"
