I have read this guys blog alot and i love several things hes done with a 10 dollar cardboard box.

and //strobist.blogspot.com/2006/08/on-assignment-shoot-your-shiny-new.html
So Here is my question.
My A630 has an external flash accessory that just screws into the camera mount and mounts to the side of the camera. With this guys setup he is using a hotshoe mount flash on a remote trigger to light through a peice of sketch paper to help light the scene's.
How does the A630 sync with its high power external flash and is it possible to do a DIY to mount it away from the camera or take advantage of its trigger mech to sync a flash from my old 35mm SLR?

I guess so far no ideas, but i did find this. I assume it has a pretty slow sync but a quick light trigger. It appapently will sync with other digitals..... Wonder if it will work when its still in visible range.
"When the HF-DC1 "sees" the camera's flash fire, it will also fire, in perfect synchronization with the camera flash to increase the usable flash range considerably. There are two simple sliding controls on the back of the unit. One for "On Auto" or "On Manual." The other switch adjusts the output level to any of three levels. In Auto there is a built-in delay, which will not fire the slave with the cameras pre-flash, but will wait momentarily and synchronize the slave with the main picture-taking flash of most digital cameras. The supplied bracket is easy to attach to the tripod socket of most compact digital cameras, and the flash is so small and light, you hardly know when it's attached. The slave synched properly with both Pentax and Minolta digital cameras and really extended the maximum flash range considerably."
At this point if its a light trigger theres probly a much better setup then this for what im doing i just wanted to avoid using a light trigger slave.
