Just a couple of suggestions I thought about that may be of some value to this site.

1.) Hidden folders - Similar to how the workshop folder works except if you're a paid member you can view them or allow the photographer to control access via the preference page by adding users to view their portfolio. That last part may be too much work for both the developers and photographer to manage but if possible I think it would add some value especially if the photographer can add "conditions" rather than users. Say for example, I want the following people to be able to view my portfolio:

- Paid Members only
- Any Member who has participated in x number of challenges
- Any Member who has made x amount of forum posts
and so on and so forth.

The idea is to add some sort of screening even if it's a thin one to prevent image theft. I think if a thief has to pay money just to see photos to steal or have to get added via one of those conditions they'd just go else where to steal that may be easier to steal from.

2.) Copyright Sign - Add a large copyright sign in front of and below each photo when you view the site as a guest. If logged in maybe also have some sort of copyright sign that is more noticable than what we have currently. Also if there is some sort of statement about the community being pretty active in hunting down copyright infringers I think that would also help deter some people who think this is just like any other site where you can steal and never get caught. That last part is what I've always believed is true and why most copyright infringement occurs. People don't read terms of services and they think every site is the same so that may help to deter some people.

None of these fixes the problem but I think they could help. Anyway, just some thoughts. I thought about this after learning that Brad had removed his photos from his portfolio because of this problem and I can see others following that path.

I like the idea of having a big ugly copyright sign on the front of photos that magically disappears when you log in as a paid member. The hidden "paid members only" folder isn't a bad idea, either.

Even if you remove your portfolio images your challenge photos are still out there. I had made the following suggestion in the Disable right click....why is wrong? thread recently.

Why couldn't DPC automate something like that here? While the challenge is active obviously you wouldn't want the distraction, but afterwards it wouldn't be bad if done discreetly.

Oh nevermind.
It's obvious it's of no importance.

But when the day comes, that one of you find your daughter's face on someone else's nude body,
it will be of importance, and maybe, just maybe, it might strike a nerve and you too will take action.
