My other option is to go for a nicer lens and get a 70-200. I've heard people say that the 70-200s are so much nicer that you can crop to the same image as a 300mm, and still get a better picture. Is this true?
Canon 70-300 IS is a nice lens, but for not much more, I could look at a 70-200 f4, or if I really push it, the sigma f2.8, and it will take the CPL no problem. Any comments?
For sports, I'll probably use it mostly at the longest end, and be cropping from there, but as a portrait lens, the loss of the 300 won't be an issue. |
