Although not a member, I've been following some of the discussion threads about how to achieve a soft focus. I did some experimeting and found that some a theater lighting gel made by Rocoe works with reasonable success. It is gel R162 (Light Opal) and is indended to be used as a moderate diffusion paper. But when you look through it, you can still make out the hard-edge detail while also noticing a soft glow around lighter objects. You can buy a 20"x24" sheet of it at many websites for around $5. I wish I had some samples to post here, but like I said, I'm not a member and don't have a portfolio, sorry.
