Im thinking of purchasing a light kit to start doing some portaits etc....and Im wondering what would be good to start with? I am looking at ABees.... Any thoughts?
Also, which is better lights, or flash units?

If you're doing just portraits, you could get by with some Vivitar 285's.
Great resource
Personally I like working with flashes over constant lights (higher output, more modifier options, cooler), but not everyone works the same.
