So last night I did my first ever shoot with a model that wasn't me. He is an old friend and he was doing some shots in Edinburgh with some guy and he was crashing at my place, he needed some shots for his portfolio (yesterday was his first shoot aswel) and he wanted them to be very lowkey and shadowy so I obliged was just happy for the experience. so there is a collection in my portfolio and hopefully this link will take you to them, any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

just glancing at the thumbnails, i like them :) you both did a good job.. maybe a bit of some kind of backlight, even though you were going for low key.. but again, that's only glancing at the thumbnails :)

they look great to me! Pin sharp and nice subtle lighting, not bad for a first time, hey?

I like the shots. I think you could bring a little more light to his face by using a reflector on the other side of him.

As far as portfolios go, I think its a great start for him but it'll be good to see him go through more range of emotion with his eyes.

good job ... a few of them are a tad bit dark but I like the way the low key lighting highlights his muscles ...
