I have seen this one before but not sure of the owner, I know it is from our site.

Yes, that's the same image as the TS posted. It's from Manny (Librodo)

Can anybody translate Arabic? Google's translation is sketchy at best and Babelfish doesn't have Arabic.

I'd like to know what she titled my picture. And what the text on the photo is. Oh, and the poem she wrote for it.

(I'm so proud - it's my first stolen shot! Yay me!)

None of mine. :( I did find one of mine on stumbleupon the other day.

I don't understand why you would post other people's pics on Flickr. Even though she occasionally gives credit but mostly puts "not taken by me" she gets lots of comments like "I love your stuff!" and "You are wonderful, keep 'em coming!".

What's the point?

I know my pictures aren't good enough to steal, but this seems like it is happening way too often! I wonder if this site could do something to prevent people from thieving our pictures.?.

I hate threads like this, they constantly remind me that my photos suck so bad, no one even wants to steal them let alone buy them lol.

liberty...dead horse

I just received this email in response to a notice I submitted to them
that one of their users was taking images off DPC without permission:

Hello,

Flickr is subject to the DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright
Act) and will take down any infringing material upon receipt
of a complete Notice of Infringement. This is handled by the
Yahoo! Copyright Team. There's more information available at
this URL:

//docs.yahoo.com/info/copyright/copyright.html

We'll review the account and take any necessary action.

Kind Regards,

Michelle

It's a start anyway. At least they have been made aware.

I do :) As per advice from skip :) Every other month, with 45 bucks :)

ETA: besides, the moment you click the shutter, you fall under copyright law. Registering them only helps the law fight for you :)

When is my work protected?
Your work is under copyright protection the moment it is created and fixed in a tangible form that it is perceptible either directly or with the aid of a machine or device.

Do I have to register with your office to be protected?
No. In general, registration is voluntary. Copyright exists from the moment the work is created. You will have to register, however, if you wish to bring a lawsuit for infringement of a U.S. work.
