Hiya, I'm about halfway through making a new website, and I have had about all the formatting fun I can stand :)
I now have the task of inserting my own pictures into the gallery system instead of the pre-packaged ones. This one didn't come with a automatic tool, but it's not made with flash and was fairly simple to integrate, and SMALL! It's CSS/Java only and you can get it here if you like. It's totally free.
Since I'm in the middle of it, are there any suggestions that ya'll have for me?

Thanks!

I like it.
Only thing that bothers me is that the landing page (index page) is centered in the middle of the page. The rest of the pages are top aligned.
I think it would work out better if each photo gallery hand its own page instead of the roll over thumbnails because of the pain of loading a large collection of thumbs on a small screen resolution. The java effect is pretty cool, but might get annoying after a while.
good luck!
btw... viewing with firefox 2.0.0.3

okay, first off your links bar is not fully on the screen. so you don't really know what your clicking. Then once you get into it you have no way of getting back to the home page. Granted you have the same links that are on the homepage, I think, but it's also nice to have a way to get back to the homepage. The scroll/rollover bar is nice in the folio! |

K, I'm not sure what you talking about with the "fully on the screen" comment ? It's directly over the box on ie7 and FF.
For the link back... Click "Brisendine Photography" I'may change that to "home" or something. |

Unless you have your window at 800x600 in which case the links are completely hidden with no ability to scroll up to access them. |

I think I know what the problem might be, if I can un-anchor the box from the center and align it to the top instead, I'm assuming that it will allow the screen to scroll, or at least only cut off the bottom for now.
Jeez, I didn't know anyone still used 800x600. :/ |

Not a huge percentage of people set their monitors to 800x600 but most don't open the browser full screen so they may or may not initially see the menu. Since the majority of websites are anchored to the top left of the browser window or to the top it may not be immediately intuitive that they need to resize the browser window to see content above the starting point. May not be as fancy as you'd like but the upside is it's one less negative margin browser hack in your CSS. |

Okay, it was the absolute centering which is now removed.

much better. I still really like the way your folio looks with the scroll bar and when you enlarge the thumbnail I also like how you can go to the next photo or close. Did you design your homepage? I really do like it.

Actually it's a mish-mash of a template and the gallery scripting with some AJAX code that I've found lately. It's funny what you find when you set Web Design as one of your interests in StumbleUpon. I'm going to add a scripted contact form also.
If I can swing it, I might learn how to make the images on the front page clickable, there's some dhtml stuff that will simply pop up an image anywhere you click on a page.
The background image I did myself of course ;)
