help with file numbering - DPChallenge Forums

my file number suddenly jumped to 5700 for no reason, I know I've shot more than 8000 frames. Does anyone have similar problem, is there a way to fix it?? I want to keep track of the number of frames I've shot..thanks for your help

This card has never been used in a different camera. I'm guessing the problem is that I used this card a while back when my file number was around 5700, this is the second time I used it after I'd bought it...I'm just guessing.

Did you format the card before using it again?

Every time I put a card in my camera (whether or not it has pictures on it) I format the card before doing anything else.

I formatted all my cards tried them all still the same, actually the card was bought way after my camera reached 5700.

The cards have been formatted in the camera and not the computer?
