Yeah, tell me about it, thats the story of my life!! I had what I thought was a good idea for DPL but couldn't figure out the text thing to my satisfaction so I didn't enter...after seeing the entrys I am kinda glad I didn't, mine would have been the brown for sure!!

Hi.....just a last note before the end of a loooooooooooooong day. Here's a pic for Karen who said she wanted more detail in the B&W shot I put in the B&W project.

Original: Second View:

I dunno what it is, but I surely love old, decrepit stuff.

I think it would be really cool if you made a private forum for Team Suck! :D But I don't see it on my home page. We've always let off steam about our photos on this thread, but we make an effort not to identify our photos. If you see any infractions, let us know.

We're not quite ready to vanish into DPL!!

Why, thank you! Such a lot of detail in all that decrepitude. :) I'd go to town with my macro on that, given the chance. Hope you had fun fiddling with the process some more!

Well, it was actually a different shot that I hadn't messed with yet....I was glad it had the detail you like.

I'm going to go back and find more places to shoot......there are quite a few old buildings like this around Steelton.

This is from the manual for your camera at Konica Minolta.

Your camera is a discontinued line DiMage Z10.

From the research I did, the main problem seems to be with your power input,

1: The bateries may be burnt out, Buy new ones.
2: Are by mistake inserting one the wrong way round, I did this several times with a camera using AA batteries.
3: Check that your storage card is properly inserted and pressed home all the way.
4: Think back did you remove the card with the power still on, if so this will cause damage and not allow you to use the camera. Buy a new card.

If any of these do not help. you may have to rethink your stratergy and buy a new camera.

FYI - Team Suck is a pre-DPL conglomeration of, well, read the first post of the thread for the origins and conglomerate members. It is not an official DPL team, we don't discuss entries (other than to whine a bit, boast a bit) or strategies (other than "hey, I entered xx challenge and it will suck!"). I figure it'll pretty much continue as is, and since there are visitors and occasional additions of new Suckers, I'd rather not see it as a "private" thread.

Here, here! I'm actually surprised muckpond even posted. Ursula, L2, could you please explain to the rest of the SC about Team Suck? You're still lurking, right? :)

#2 and #3 were fine, and I haven't done #4 I'm pretty sure.
Going to get new batteries at the next available opportunity!
I hope that helps - will keep you all updated :-)

After taking the last week off, I had ideas and pictures for both of the open challenges, and decided I liked my Silky Smooth one better. That isn't to say the rest of DPC will like it, but the bottom 15% is safe--comfortable even.

Note to SC's: please let me put in captions for thumbs!! It would make our Team Suck results much nicer to read.

My album cover was DQed - yay! But my over-all average seems to be going down anyway. Do the votes for DQed entries count toward the average anyway?

Think so. Fairly recent change.

Do you have anything else in the running right now? My Sports score seemed to have dropped quite a bit from yesterday to today (yes, I peeked at scores this morning, and my DPL is doing well.)

Julianne I put the how to notes on my Red Lanterns for you. Let me know if they're flunky.

No, this is what your score for a DQ will be: ~

Hey, we're in the same boat. :) I finally pushed the editing a wee bit too far. And yes, my average received has stayed down where it went during voting, so I think we're stuck with those votes. But at least we won't be receiving any more on those DQs.
05/15/2007 08:54:38 AM · #2173
Sorry to hear about the DQ's, well - not sorry about yours, Julianne, as you seem to be quite relieved about it. :)

To change the subject a bit - to the category of "would anyone happen to know...?" - I noticed in others' portfolios that their portfolio folders (portraits, my favorites, etc.) would have a picture representing it, instead of the folder icon. It may be right in front of my eyes and I'm just somehow blind to it, but I can't find where I can set a picture to represent a particular folder.

So, would anyone happen to know?

thanks. :)

There is an icon for represent collection.

Select one photograph within a folder by checking the box and click on the represent collection icon.

Aahhh, thanks! I guess I was blind to it. :)
