If anyone wants to form a DPL team or be on a team, say something and I will try to help you form a team. What I concerned about is that no one in the Suck League feels left out or abandoned.

Ummm, I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I sure as heck ain't turnin' in my Team Suck membership card. I plan to keep hangin' out here just the same as always.

For DPL team members, their teammates' shots will be posted on the last page of the challenge entries, like your own entry is now. And you will be blocked from voting on them, just the way you are blocked from voting on your own.

I suck and will suck forever. Whether in Team Suck or DPL, I ain't gonna improve. So, I guess I sit here and hold Deb's hand whilst everyone else disappears :((

Florida is burning. I went out today to shoot for Vanishing Point, and the air was hazy with smoke and smells like a fireplace. The fires aren't near Delray (yet). There is a fire near Naples, on the opposite side of the state, and a lot of fires North of here - over 220 in all. The smoke all seems to be blowing in this direction. Several major highways were closed this morning because of low visibility. As of this morning 80,000 acres were burning. I haven't seen my photos yet, so I don't know if they are smoky.

Sorry to hear about the fires Julianne. I remember having to drive through some of those when I lived there - not only does it stink and make your eyes burn, especially when it gets into the peat, but visibility is really awful in places. Hopefully you'll get a couple of good cloud-bursting thunderstorms soon (though it doesn't help with the bog fires that burn underground.)

We got a good TS team here that will hold the fort. So, I guess we muddle on while the others display their wares elsewhere. Team Suck rules, no matter what else happens :)

Wrong-O! You do not suck, but I can offer this line of thought as to why I picked my hat back outta the ring.

After thinking about it, though Don talked about participating in the DPL since it's now under the DPC umbrella, I just don't want the angst and the pressure when I'm still really wanting more to learn than compete.

What if I tank five entries in a row? What if I'm not motivated for two straight weeks to enter a challenge? Even if I'm on a team that says they don't care about scores, that'll get old all too soon, and it wouldn't be fair to the rest of the team.

So I'm just going to enter the challenges that I want to and keep on trying to learn at my own speed in my own way. I know I can do that here.

just making sure - my entries "count" for Team Butterflies even while they count for DPL Out of Focusers, right? Joining one doesn't entail leaving the other.

I think that's right - but with what others are saying I'm becoming confused....well, more confused than usual.

I'm new to the whole DPL thing. I need a member of TS to set me straight on this one, I guess. :)

I have discovered a strange thing while reviewing my shots from this morning. I took a shot of a draw bridge, and there is a foreign object on the right side of the photo. It looks like a spent cartridge to me and seems to be in mid-air. Judging by its relative size, it must have been fairly close to me. Here is the full photo, and a crop showing more detail of the object. What do you think?

I have probably been here to long to explain this well.

DPL and the Suck League are independent entities.

In the Suck League, your entries will count as part of Team Butterflies. In the DPL League, your entries will count as part of Out of Focusers because being an impulsive idiot I named the team the same as a team on the Suck League. These are completely two different and separate teams with different members.

Some of the "Suck" Butterflies are on different DPL teams and some of the "Suck" Out of Focusers are on different DPL teams so there is no way to really synchronize the teams in the different leagues.

My preference was to find nice people in the Suck League who were willing to try it for out for one season in the DPL.

Maybe people on the DPL Out of Focusers want to PM me with questions until we have a dedicated thread?

Karen, you're too funny. I was standing on a dock in front of a restaurant at lunchtime. There were 10 or 15 people eating on a deck behind me.
