I would say put me on a team that needs a boost in suckiness, or just whoever will take me :D I'm not picky.

Ok now I am scared... I had the Hitchhiker's text based game too. I got stuck just floating in space lol. I loved that game! Drove me nuts.

You would make a good "Hoover".

I had the game also, it came complete with a red badge with DON'T PANIC. I wore that badge for ages, how sad:(

I was a complete nut for the books, the radio show and the TV show. I have the DVD, but haven't watched it yet.

Welcome back, Mary! Good to see you on board again. I suggested a new team, cos I suck worse than any Hoover.

I suggested Team Squeaky Wheels, for the really, and I mean really, sucky people. As we keep getting new victims, we need to absorb them into the Suckiness.

Geez, we're a bunch of geezers, aren't we? Ah, those were the days... :-)

And YES - please come join the Hoovers, Michelle! I think you'll fit in just fine. And no leaving, Steve. Once a Hoover, always a Hoover.

Melethia - you were THE ONLY ONE I think that got my Pop Culture pic. So that means that we must some how think alike. I'd LOVE to join the Hoovers lol. It was really the text-based Hitchhiker's guide game that sealed the deal. (That just makes me laugh knowing I am not the only person in the world that played that.)

Well, I am open to bribery, Deb! My Insects II is still hoovering around 5.7, but my Hair entry restores suckiness with 4.7. Seems your choice is working out well. Or, perhaps, you are just afraid you will still get blamed for Insect if I crash :)

LOL! I love this place. :-) Michelle, if we think alike, you may be doomed. You've been warned. Steve, good score on the bug! Looking forward to seeing it. Have to say I've been slowly working my way through Landscapes (there are a lot of them!) so I haven't made it to Insects to vote yet. And Hair - ah, well. The average between the two is still pretty darn good.

And I hate to admit this after all my complainin' of late, but I may have a 6 in Landscapes. I did when I checked scores today. Ain't lookin' again 'til the fat lady sings, though. I assure you it was purely accidental.

A 6 Deb?? Are you sure you belong here? I think you maybe a spy, and interloper!!

Good luck with it:)

Simple can be effective. A single, unique utensil or item against either a gradiated background, or with good "kitchen" bokeh. Good lighting is a must.
Unusual setting. Take your kitchenware to somewhere it does not belong. Photograph it there. This is, of course, DPC - be careful of too busy!
Natural. Take a picture of people doing kitchen things in the kitchen using kitchen utensils.
Combine unusual with natural - have people doing things with kitchen utensils, but NOT in the kitchen.
See earlier kitchen challenges (I think there were some).

Great ideas, Melethia. Some other ideas to those doing the challenge (not sure myself):

Macro - A lot of utensils have a good bite/softness, mix wood textures with steel grating textures maybe...

Slow Shutter Speed - Show that Mixer/Blender/Cutting Knife in motion.

I cannot vote in the bugs challenge. Yech I just hate them (except for butterflies!) - I couldn't even enter the challenge. I need to vote on the landscape challenge. Cannot wait to see what you guys entered.

My Hair challenge received the official kiss of death - 7 comments, with posthumous being the only one that got the title. The score correlates to that too.

Makes me feel like I belong here. :)

Oh, the books are so much better! The film fades in comparison. The books have total cult status, and get referenced constantly worldwide by, erm, cool people. Yes.

Was that a hitchhiker's reference too?

I had that same text based game. Actually, you can still get it on-line.

Yeah.....on eBay as an antique!

Though please try and be original. For the chains challenge, I ended up critiquing about 5-6 chain macros, it's a pretty dull challenge interpretation... I'm already dreading the bokeh after bokeh and wooden spoon on black background macros to come...

Umm.....

I'll give you a hint on mine.....no wooden spoon.

It'll be about as inside the box as my last two portrait entries.

Heh, heh!

purpleflutterby13 has requested a spot on Team Minus
colorcarnival has requested a spot on Hoovers

-someone remind xianart to update the list when she wanders in.

It's way too nice to be indoors right now.

I'll update my challenge results script on Sunday night, before posting the results in the other thread. Welcome to Team Suck!

This is so cool, I join Team Suck and since then I have received comments and a fave from jackal9 and a fave from Melethia. And I was already occasionally receiving comments from posthumous which was awesome.

You guys rock! You really know how to make someone feel welcome!

I second that :) Team Suck has such a nice warm feel to it... And lots of lovely people who give you comments, inspiration, and are just nice to chat to.

What I find weird is that this thread genuinely feels like a living room.

TS rocks!
