Good lord Slippy...don't do that. You're already past 40, and your eyesight is bound to deteriorate with age. You might never get to see hockey again if you wait for the Maple Laffs ...errr Leafs to get a decent team.

Ha. Yeah when was the last time they reached the finals? 1840?

Well, the Sabres are back leading the series. After watching the game, I'm beginning to re-think what I said earlier about Toronto fans. The Islanders fans evidently have absolutely 0 class. I mean, go ahead and cheer for your team, and feel free to boo the other team (they can take it). But throwing bottles and garbage onto the ice? And yelling insults at the woman who sang the National Anthem? If anybody tried that bullshit at HSBC arena in Buffalo, they would be ejected from the arena in about 5 seconds, and good riddance! If Bufalo steps up and wins Wednesday too, we can then finish the series here in Buffalo and be rid of NY for the season.

I think the last known "Islander fan" was seen in 1985 or thereabouts. I've seen many games there when the Rangers play and the place is usually packed with Ranger fans.

Tonight's write-up:

Tampa Bay/New Jersey - Tampa was all over New Jersey to begin this game, and took advantage of a rare off-night for Brodeur. Although the Devils, and Brodeur, seemed to settle in, it was too little too late, and Tampa walked off with the win. They played hard, both teams got a couple of fluky goals, and much fun was had for anyone that watched the game. Well, I had fun anyway.. and that's tough to say about a game involving the Devils usually.

New York Isles/Buffalo - Let me just put this out right away.. Buffalo probably shouldn't have won this game. They were out worked, out played, and out hearted. However, they managed to score one very lucky goal, and just had the hockey gods on their side. They should be thanking Ryan Miller with everything they can. He's the only reason they won this game. Much like DiPietro took game 2. This series could easily go 7 games with these goaltenders. All depends on luck now.

San Jose/Nashville - San Jose finally turns in a performance they are capable of. Hard on the puck, face-off kings, possession like mad.. They dominated the Preds hands down. Now if only they could figure out how to score on a mother-lovin' 5 on 3 powerplay... jerks. Also, someone tell Kyle McClaren that if he lazily plays the puck with a predator bearing down on him and turns it over ONE MORE TIME, I'm going to rip his throat out. JUST KIDDING.. but man, he makes me wince every time he has the puck.

I'm going to have to find something to support Toronto in which Toronto is actually good at. Let's see..... TRAFFIC JAMS and CLOUDY WEATHER!

Hey you forgot how lucky the Sharks were in that Radulov was suspended. :P

It wasn't luck, and I don't think it would have made much of a difference whatsoever anyway.

Ok now that the Stars are done it's Go Rangers all the time now! :P Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if they win in Vancouver and then lose their 6th straight home playoff game or whatever it's up to now.

I almost want it to go to game 7, as I have a game 7 ticket...

But then again, I'd rather just see the stars get stomped and Bobby Lou get some rest.

So, I'll go ahead and take back what I said about the Thrashers. Even still, a great year down here in Atlanta, and I still cheer to KEEP THE CUP IN THE SOUTH.

GO CANUCKS GO! i think Canucks will win on thursday, most likely in 5th overtime.

Vancouver has gone too long without a cup, this is the year !

The usual:

Busy night tonight! Damn.. couldn't watch all the games though, was busy. Suckage... so I'll just give impressions on outcomes.

Ottawa/Pittsburgh - Poor Pittsburgh, they're trying SO HARD. I really want to see this team succeed, but it seems to be Ottawa's year so far. We'll have to see what happens, but I think Ottawa will ride the momentum to a 5 game series. Would be nice to see Crosby get a hat-trick game or something though.. because I don't think he can be over-stated enough :)

Atlanta/New York Rangers - Ouch. OUCH.. Hartley, dude, I hope they tar and feather your ass. Hedberg should have been in net. Give your team a chance to get back in the series and *THEN* give Lehtonen his confidence back. What you did here was destroyed this young kid. You wouldn't even pull him! Ugh. I hate it when coaches are assholes to their goaltenders. Yah, the Rangers played a brilliant game, but there was no excuse.

Vancouver/Dallas - Vancouver finds a way to win in front of Luongo the super-goalie again. Some of the saves by both him *and* Turco tonight made my jaw drop. Turco can't be blamed this year.. but he will be. It's sad. (Yes, I'm goaliecentric). I don't know what's worse.. the fact that I feel sorry for a Dallas Star.. or the fact that it's *TURCO*.

Anaheim/Minnesota - HAH! Minnesota finally shows up. Too little, too late.. but they finally did. It was nice to see. Too bad they're going down. (Although I'll be ecstatic to be completely wrong about this is Minnesota pulls off a miracle).

Detroit/Calgary - Calgary showed up too, but everyone expected them to. They're unstoppable at home. I think Detroit got too cocky too. It'll be an interesting game 4. I despise Detroit though, so I still say Calgary in 7.

That's it once again..

GO SHARKS!!!!!! tomorrow.

Everyone sick of the playoffs already? lol.

Tonight's games:

Tampa Bay/New Jersey - Jersey came out hard, gave Tampa everything they had, and squeaked out a 4-3 win in overtime. Holmqvist was at times brilliant, and at other times a little weak. Brodeur was mostly a little weak, but had flashes of Brodeur. All in all, a very entertaining game. Series is tied.. I believe this one will go all 7..

Buffalo/New York Islanders - Are we getting sick of weird/bad/crazy calls in this series or what? Islanders lose a heart-breaker, but Buffalo is clearly the better team. The only way the Isles will win again is if DiPietro steals another one for them. It could happen.

New York Rangers/Atlanta - The first, and only, sweep of the first round. Atlanta just didn't have the heart, the depth, or the goaltending. The Rangers are just also looking damn good. I wouldn't want to be the team facing them next, that's for sure. Also, Avery seems to have ... like... matured a little. UNPOSSIBLE!

San Jose/Nashville - Nabokov kept San Jose in this one early, and then the team just wore Nashville down. Clearly the better team when the two teams decide not to play dirty, although San Jose needs to find a power play again... it's just ridiculously bad right now. They should have been up 6-1 in this game by the third period. Ah well, what matters is they won. Up 3-1 in the series.. YAY Sharks!

Two more teams go golfing:

Ottawa/Pittsburgh: Poor Pittsburgh. They just had no gas left in the tank after throwing everything they could at Ottawa in game three. Not to mention the demoralizing play of Ray Emery (who, incidentally, looks like a real-life comic book character in interviews). Ottawa clearly was the strongest team in this series, and could face the Rangers next round.. that'll be something to watch if it happens.

Detroit/Calgary: Calgary evens up the series with another win at home. I don't think a lot of people are *hugely* surprised by this, and it's starting to look like 2004 all over again. Cue Twilight Zone theme. The problem is.. they still need to win one on the road. Can they?

Dallas/Vancouver: Well.. it had to happen. Dallas won a game in overtime with a chintzy deflection goal, to keep themselves alive. Two more games for Vancouver to show a little killer instinct. Turco was brilliant.

Anaheim/Minnesota: Anaheim was just too strong. Giguere played really well for not having played in awhile, and the Ducks come out with a 5-game series win. I was rooting for Minnesota, mostly because I hate Chris Pronger... and because I didn't want the Sharks to have to face Anaheim... at any point.

So Anaheim and Ottawa get some rest. Let's see if the Sharks and Sabers can earn their berths tomorrow.

Well it didn't surprise me that they won when the pressure was off so now that they are back in Dallas they will probably lose. I hate that year in year out Dallas gets so little out of their offensive players. Sidney Crosby would probably struggle to get 70 points in the Dallas system.

I can't stand this, LOL! Dallas has done well to get this far with all of the major injuries and key players out this season. Turco has been stellar in this series, but the key goal scorers for Dallas have not stepped up yet. Lindros appeared (finally) last night and it did change the dynamic of the game a bit. Wish Barnaby were playing!!

Would love this series to go to a game 7 so Andrew can go watch and so Dallas can make it to the second round. :P

GO STARS!

I still say Red Wings will, once again, take Lord Stanley's Cup back home to Detroit where it belongs.

But you once stole (er, we lost) Brett Hull and a few other favorite STARS players, so I cannot condone the Wings winning, ever. :P

If you can't make the stars of the STARS happy in Dallas, that sounds like a problem for management.

They don't call Detroit Hockeytown for nothing.
